2nd Place – Jeff Jenson, St. Louis, MO. Art Hines took Jeff to the Sterret Creek area to work a variety of baits in 5 to 10 feet of water. This resulted in a limit weighing 8.87 lbs and the Amatuer Division Big Bass at 5.50 lbs. All told, Jeff took home $875 for his work.
Art kept the boat out of the wind on the side of points and worked the wind blown area as it swept around the point. Jeff changed baits to catch his limit, switching from a Lake Fork craw tube, 10 inch Berkley power worm and a green pumpkin Zoom brush hog.
3rd Place – Chris Hirstein, Lee’s Summit, MO
Chris rode with 2nd Place Pro angler Brad Bulter to weigh 8.58 lbs for the day. He worked a chartreuse dipped, watermelon red Zoom brush hog on a 1/2 oz Carolina rig up to the base of the flooded bushes and waited for a strike. The bigger fish seemed to be a little lethargic and didn’t want much action imparted on the bait. Chris had his limit by 10:30 am but wasn’t able to add to it the rest of the day. He thanked Brad for clueing him in to how slow the fish wanted the bait worked. Chris pocketed $450 for 3rd Place.
