Stockton Lake was home to Heartland Trails on June 4th as the second season of the 2011 year kicked off. Temperatures had been on the rise and the anglers were greeted with a hot day on the water with high temperatures hitting the low 90’s. The southwest Missouri area has seen a lot of rain this spring and Stockton had plenty of bushes in the water to attract both fish and anglers.

The father-son team of Curt and Loren Graves took top honors with a nice bag of fish going 19.82 pounds. Their bag was anchored by a 6.11 pound toad that earned them second big bass for the day as well.

Curt and Loren flipped green pumpkin tubes and brush hogs with ¼ ounce weights on 20lb line to flooded willows and bushes on the inside turns of flat points. They found their fish between 2 and 5 feet of water in the mid Big Sac arm of the lake. The team earned $2,520.00 for their efforts. Nice job guys!

Sponsors include: Jewel Bait Co., Mercury Marine, Quantum, Alberts Marine, Bass Pro Shops.

Second place went to the local team of Brent Algeo and Jim Copeland. Brent and Jim had 5 fish that went 19.48 pounds and was anchored by the big fish of the tournament, a 6.35 pound hog.

Brent and Jim flipped bushes in the Big Sac arm as well and reported catching all their fish on the new Chompers Brush Beast in green pumpkin color.

Sponsors include Competitive Audio, Car-Fi and Chompers. Brent and Jim collected $1,720.00 for second place!

Wes Endicott and Greg Wood continue to put their names in the top three and did so behind a 17.52 pound bag of fish. Wes and Greg went through 9-10 keepers on the day flipping plastics to flooded willows and bushes in the Big Sac arm.

They took home $1,125.00 for third place!

Sponsors include Bass Pro Shop’s, Mercury Marine, Motor Guide, Nitro Boats, Pro Guide Batteries, Kistler Custom Rods, and Lew’s Reels, Hughes Custom Baits and Phoenix Boats.
