Jeff Rehmer of Gravois Mills, MO traveled down to the dam area and focused on docks in 8-10 feet of water.  Jeff used a shaky head with a green pumpkin Zoom Centipede to accumulate a winning weight of 17.38 pounds.  The key to getting bit was letting the bait sit a while and fishing it slow.  Jeff managed to go through 9 keepers on the day and said his bite was an early one.  Jeff took home $2,920.00 for first place, second big bass and US REEL incentive money.  Jeff’s sponsors include Mercury Marine, Motor Guide, Ranger Boats, Laurie Marine, Sedalia Outdoor Sports, R&L Siding and Windows, US REEL.

The second stop of the Heartland Elite series took place at Table Rock Lake April 10th.  Anglers had to deal with the fast changing conditions and make a move to follow the fish.  Take off found the temperatures in the low 60’s and the high hit the upper 80’s with a strong south wind gusting to 35 mph.  This time of year the fish start to get one thing on their minds and this can sometimes make it hard to locate and catch them.  Some of the best anglers in the Midwest were up for the challenge and succeeded.
charlie campbell
Big Bass honors went to Charlie Campbell.  Charlie showed that he can still catch the big ones!!!  Charlie said the fish came about 10:00 on a jerkbait around a cedar tree off a secondary point.  This fish weighted 7.80 pounds!!  Nice fish Charlie!

Marty Conrad is no stranger to the check line at Table Rock Lake.  Marty traveled to the mid White River area and threw the new Luck “E” Strike crawdad crankbait in a red and black color in 10-12 feet of water.  Marty focused on big ledge rock banks about 2/3rds of the way back in creeks. He experienced an all day bite going through 9 keepers to weigh in 16.77 pounds and take home$1,500.00 for second place.  Marty’s sponsors include Gamakatsu, Luck “E” Strike USA, Mercury Marine, Motor Guide, Pro Guide Batteries, Lefty’s Pump and Drilling, Five Star, Lowe’s Rods, Maui Jim Sunglasses and Legend Boats.

wes endicott

Wes Endicott is also a regular in the check line at Table Rock.  Wes traveled to the dam area and found an all day bite flipping a jig and a tube in 2-5 feet of water to weigh in 16.51 pounds.  Wes’s bag was anchored by a 5.86 pound largemouth that he caught on a tube.  He collected $1,000.00 for third place.  Wes’s sponsors include Bass Pro Shop’s, Mercury Marine, Motor Guide, Nitro Boats, Pro Guide Batteries, Kistler Custom Rods, and Lew’s Reels.
